I am Tadeusz (Ted) Swiatek, a Polish-Canadian sculptor born in Stalowa Wola, Poland, in 1957.

As a young child, I harbored a profound curiosity and passion for creating art, a passion that persists to this day. I vividly recall the immense satisfaction and wonder I experienced when I first began carving figures in potatoes and soaps, as well as crafting my very own toys.

This creative enthusiasm has been a constant companion throughout my life, even after my move to Canada in the late 1980s. In my relentless pursuit, I dedicated myself to honing my craft, expanding my body of work, and mastering a variety of techniques to evolve as an artist. I explored diverse mediums that captivated my attention, including wood, clay, ceramics, painting, drawing, metal fabrication, and even delving into the realm of poetry.

MY APPROACH

Most of my work is based on real life experience and observations. My challenge is to constantly develop new techniques and originality in my work.
